SMS Messages Campaigns Popular For Indian Films

It appears that folks in India are a lot more tolerant of SMS spam than folks in the US. Apparently, it’s increasingly popular for movie makers to send out SMS spam messages promoting their movies. One such movie credits the SMS marketing campaign for making his suspense movie so successful. That campaign sent out conflicting messages about the movies climax, in an effort to entice people to find out what really happened in the movie. Many of the SMS campaigns sound similar, with various plot-points (often misleading) being sent to everyone’s mobile phones. Some even say that competing movie makers are sending out some of the misleading text messages to harm business for other movies. This can’t bode well for SMS advertising.
