Mobile Phone Users Know WAP-All About Them
A study of those who own WAP-enabled phones discovered that the vast majority had no idea how to use WAP. This shouldn’t be all that surprising, but I’m not sure that’s really useful information. If you’re asking people to demonstrate how they use WAP, they probably don’t know. However, if given a very specific task that they do often – that runs via WAP, I’d bet that more would be able to do so. That said, I’m sure plenty of people who have WAP-enabled phones barely, if ever, use them for any data services. While there are some uses of WAP that are compelling, for most people, there’s simply no reason.
