Cingular Sends Yahoo A Message
Yet another story showing the convergence of IM and SMS. A day after Jabber announced their SMS to IM Gateway, Cingular has announced that their subscribers will be able to send text messages to Yahoo’s instant messenger program. Of course, this isn’t seamless, as it requires you to send instant messages to the Cingular user’s phone number, rather than associating it with their current username. I imagine this would slow down the adoption rates drastically.
