Case May Explore Spin-off Of AOL

from the too-little,-too-late dept

According to this report, Steve Case is now interested in seeing if AOL Time Warner is interested in spinning off AOL – thereby undoing the megamerger from a few years ago. Of course, since Case has less and less power these days, his views may not get much attention from the people who would ultimately make such a decision. Of course, with all the back and forth, and AOL’s slow realization on the importance of high speed access, any such spin-off might do more to distract AOL from recapturing its former glory than help it. Update: No surprise here, but AOL-Time Warner quickly denied any such plans for a spin-off.
