Ericsson Demonstrates SIM With GSM, WLAN Sign-On
As we move closer to a world where the cellular networks and WLAN networks co-exist we’ll need devices that can handle both types. Ericsson is now demonstrating a SIM card that offers a single sign-on to both GSM and publice WiFi networks. Of course, in the article they suggest that this lack of a single sign-on has “held back the market”, which I’m not sure is really true at this point. There are probably about twenty different things that have “held back the market”, but all are being solved, one-by-one.
