Sacked By SMS

An Australian man who claims he was unfairly fired by SMS text message is suing the company for “unfair dismissal” (not sure what the laws are in Australia on this subject, so I can’t what the real issues are). The company apparently sent him an SMS that read: “It’s official, you no longer work for JNI Traffic Control and you have forfeited any arrangements made.” The company claims that the man had quit using “colorful language” swearing that he would never work at the company again – and the SMS was just confirming his “resignation”.
