Sony Announces Handheld PlayStation

from the lots-of-gaming-options dept

For years, Nintendo ruled the handheld gaming world with their Gameboy devices. It appears that world is getting a lot more crowded. First, Nokia came along with their game-playing phone, N-Gage, and last week a bunch of ex-Palm officials made news with their own handheld gaming platform scheduled to be launched in the near future. However, today, the big shocker came, when Sony surprised lots of people with plans for a handheld PlayStation. To be honest, it’s a bit surprising that they didn’t come out with such a product a long time ago. The article doesn’t give away much in the way of details (and the device won’t come out for some time), but I wonder if it will have any wireless capabilities. At this stage of the game, if you’re going to go mobile, you might as well add some sort of wireless networking capabilities.

Re: fuck sony

Whoa, chill out dude sony didn’t ruin sega. Sega just couldn’t keep up on the competition, that’s their own problem. And as goes for nintendo it’s just competition, it doesn’t matter who has better graphics or power. The game boy could do better than the handheld playstation. It’s like Xbox and Playstation, Playstation one makes more weekly sales than Xbox by a thousand or so. So basicallly the new handheld playstation is a gamble.
