AOL, Bertelsmann Reportedly In Talks To Merge Music Arms

I doubt this is a surprise to many, but the struggling music labels are still exploring ways to consolidate. The latest rumor is that

AOL-Time Warner and Bertelsmann are exploring a merger of their music divisions, Warner Music and BMG. Of course, all the mergers in the world aren’t going to solve the problems of an obsolete business model. In fact, the process of merging is likely to keep the company distracted, and will make it even more difficult for them to realize that they’re completely missing the boat on where the music industry is moving.
