Lessons From 1903

from the technology-advances-continue dept

USA Today is going back 100 years and looking at the state of innovation in 1903. It was the year the Wright brothers took flight, and both Ford and Harley-Davidson were founded. There were new technologies and companies everywhere were looking for ways to build companies around them. Doesn’t sound all that different from today. Of course, you can take just about any year in history and pick out the similarities with today. That’s because there are always similarities, and if you ignore the major differences, then you can write a story about it. Of course, the one thing that stays pretty constant is that new technologies come along, some people get scared of them, while others embrace them. The ones who embrace them tend to do better (long term) than the ones who spend their time complaining.
