Phone Porn Can Boost 3G?

A new study looking at how people will use video on their mobile phones has found that the answer might be not very much. They gave handsets that could handle video to a number of people and had them record how they used the service. Many were excited initially, but quickly grew tired of watching choppy video with bad sound on a tiny screen. The bigger complaint, though, was that there wasn’t enough worthwhile content. Consumers who are used to plenty of channels on TV, and unlimited sites on the internet, wanted more choices – and one of the areas they hoped to see was more 3G pornography videos (along with sports, economic affairs and tourist attractions – though, I’d bet people wrote those down so they didn’t look like they just wanted porn…). Update: But wait… seconds after posting this article, I came across another study warning carriers and content providers that mobile porn is a very limited market. They think the opportunities for viewing porn content on a mobile phone are fairly limited.
