T-Mobile USA Starts Video Messaging Service

T-Mobile USA is the first US carrier to start offering video messaging to its users. For an extra $3/month users will get to send up to 10 10-second videos. I wonder who is willing to pay for such a service? There certainly are some instances when sending a video might be “nice” – but at only 10 seconds it’s extremely limited. It’s the sort of thing you would only want to do in special circumstances when you really have caught something worth sending – and I’m not sure people want to pay $3/month just to have that opportunity. Still, it is a sign that more advanced messaging is finally coming to the US – and eventually people will start building much more creative applications on top of this type of messaging.
