A Spam Fighter's Work Is Never Done

Salon is running a profile of Suresh Ramasubramanian, the well known anti-spam fighter for Outblaze, a large outsourced email provider talking about what it’s like to spend your entire day fighting spam. Not surprisingly, spammers get angry at him all the time. More interesting, though, is the fact that other anti-spam organizations also get angry with him. He feels that some anti-spam groups are a little too militant with the abuse desks at mail providers – pointing out that they’re often understaffed and are doing the best they can. However, spam seems to bring out such an emotional reaction in people that logic no longer plays a part.
