Mortgage Spammer Charged Over Selling Personal Data

from the get-the-spammers dept

The FTC is going after a “mortgage spamming company” for deceiving customers. The company sent out spam promising incredibly low rate mortgages. They got plenty of gullible suckers to fill out the form, which (of course) requested all sorts of personal and financial information and then went out and resold that information to other questionable organizations. At no point did the company actually offer a mortgage (in case you were wondering).
