Congress Cracks Down On P2P Porn

from the missing-the-point... dept

Apparently, Congress has a new reason to be concerned about file sharing systems. They’re worried about all the pornography being traded. You can already feel this being blown out of proportion. Congress seems to overreact to anything involving pornography, and so we should expect stories of Senators condemning P2P programs – once again missing the point that the file sharing networks are simply networks, just like the internet, that can be used for all sorts of things both good and bad. Blaming the technology does nothing to help. Update: The Washington Post has their own article on the topic, which seems to take the government concerns at face value.
