Virgin Mobile Faces Owner Change After Court Fight

Here’s a good Reuters article summarizing the current legal battle between Virgin Mobile and T-Mobile. Virgin Mobile, which is half owned by T-Mobile and uses their network in Europe, is fighting back following a lawsuit from T-Mobile trying to change the agreement between the two companies. Virgin Group is looking to take back the half of the joint venture currently owned by T-Mobile. This points out some of the potential problems with an MVNO, especially when the network provider owns part of the MVNO itself. It locks two companies together – when their interests may not be perfectly aligned.
