Net Music Gets AOL Audition
from the why-bother? dept
Well, it certainly took them long enough, but it appears that AOL is finally
launching their “me too” version of a legalized music downloading service. While they do have a large captive (and apparently gullible) audience, not many people expect the service to do well. It’s based on the MusicNet service which hasn’t received particularly glowing reviews. While MusicNet and AOL have said they’ve worked on improving the offering, there are still way too many limitations to make it worthwhile for most people. Once again, a major player is missing the point and trying to offer a music “downloading” service rather than a music “sharing” service.
