De-Hoaxing Virus Myths

It seems like a slow news day all around (I guess due to President’s day and the fact that no one on the east coast can see through the snow). So, as I search for any interesting news, I’m noticing that people are coming out with filler stories, such as this public service announcement about how to spot a virus hoax. Basically, it’s pretty simple: if you get an email that says “pass this on to everyone in your addressbook”, it’s probably a hoax. What’s odd, is that this article is such a filler piece that it mostly just points people to another site and tells them to look up an article about the “tell-tale signs” of a virus hoax. They couldn’t even be bothered to add the link.

Most likely, its not becuase they were lazy, but because that site has a policy against ‘deep linking’ or somesuch that they have to link to the home page only.
