T-Mobile To Provide N-Gage Services

Nokia unveiled more details about its N-Gage wireless gaming deck today in London. They’ve lined up game developers Eidos, Sega,THQ, Activision and Taito. T-Mobile is the first carrier partner and has implied it will begin marketing N-Gage in Europe and the US in time for the 2003 holiday season. And what innovative marketing spin has Nokia come up with for their big foray into wireless gaming? According to Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia’s executive vice president for mobile phones, the N-Gage is “a fantastic way of time wasting and much healthier than smoking a cigar or drinking a cup of coffee.” Just think, if carriers can figure out a way to offer the N-Gage on prepay they could cure the teen smoking epidemic!
