Ted Turner Mulling AOL Time Warner Bid

from the I'll-be-back... dept

The sudden departure of Ted Turner from AOL Time Warner earlier this week was quite a surprise to many. Now, some people close to Turner suggest that he did it in order to make a bid to buy the entire company for himself. Apparently, just being the largest shareholder and vice chairman wasn’t enough – especially since people seemed to have stopped listening to him. Other possibilities include him just making a bid for some of the original pieces that he owned, such as the Atlanta Braves or CNN. You can be pretty sure he won’t be bidding on just the AOL portion, since he’s been pretty vehemently opposed to the big merger since early on.
