AT&T Wireless To Provide Wi-Fi In Hotels, Airports

A new report says that AT&T Wireless has decided to team up with Wayport in offering WiFi hotspots in hotels and airports. This is yet another attempt at making money off of commercial hotspots, and is pretty much a reaction to the moves by many other wireless carriers (most notably, T-Mobile, but also some others) to offer hotspots as well. Of course, they’re all making the exact same mistakes in offering very expensive hotspots in limited areas that people aren’t all that interested in. It’s good to see more companies get behind WiFi, but it’s frustrating that none of them are thinking creatively about how to offer the service.
