Lufthansa Begins Internet In The Air

from the you-are-now-always-connected dept

This is a story we’ve followed for quite some time, so we might as well note that Lufthansa is (as of tomorrow) starting to full offer internet access in the sky. For the first few months it will be free, and then (most likely) it will be priced into the insane level. The one cool thing that I noticed in this article is that they’ll let people connect using a wireless connection (I’m assuming WiFi), which is surprising since the airlines seem extra scared of anything “wireless”. I’m still hopeful that they’ll figure out how to price this type of service more reasonably, though I may also miss those quiet “unconnected” flights.
