A Long Way Away From Trustworthy Computing

We’re reaching the one year anniversary of the Bill Gates memo saying that it was time for Microsoft to face the music and start building “trustworthy computing” solutions. So what’s happened over the past year? Not much that’s noticeable, but people are saying that Microsoft has made some moves in the right direction. Mostly, they’ve been hiring up security experts left and right. So, while there may not be more trustworthy products out there yet (and the fact that I spent nearly 2 hours yesterday battling with a recurring blue screen of death on startup of my XP box confirms this), people are saying that the future may be better for Microsoft products.
