What Your Ringtone Says About You
from the too-much-pop-psychology dept
Psychologist Graham Wilson believes that your choice of ringtones can reveal more about yourself that you might think. For example, young people choose popular music to show they fit in. An aggresive young professional may choose an action movie or tv show theme because they have no real action or drama in their lives. And people who don’t choose ringtones at all view their phones a purely functional items and are too busy to download or choose a custom ringtone. This very scientific research is just another reason people should set their phone to vibrate most of the time.

Vibrate mode may tell you even more about the person. 😉
Re: No Subject Given
Yeah, that we hate the sound of cell phones, and would much rather “feel” your call instead of “hear” it…
I don’t think my cell phone has ever been set up to ring since I first changed the factory defaults…and yes, a cell phone is both perfectly functional and completely evil, a device from the 8th level of hell, (I hate mine, but find it to be one of those necessary evils I cannot live without.)
My analysis
I can tell more by how long people let their phones ring or play their tune. If you let your ringtone play long enough that people who aren’t “Name That Tune” contestants can figure out the song, then you’re not being terribly considerate.
