Critics Weigh In On DMCA

from the speak-up dept

Well, the Copyright Office asked for comments on the DMCA, and whether they should allow exceptions to the law in certain circumstances, and it appears that people came through with comments. Plenty of people responded explaining why the DMCA was overly broad, and how exceptions should be made, especially for things that were covered by fair use rights. It’s not surprising that the comments came in (though, it’s good to see that it actually happened). The question, now, is how will the Copyright Office respond?
