Mobile Phone Sales Strong
Everyone seems a bit surprised at just how strong mobile phone sales were last quarter, however it’s not that surprising when you look at the details. Many people were buying due to the new color screens and the ability of the phone to act as a camera – in other words features that the consumer can actually understand. While for years the carriers and handset makers have focused on the technology, it seems they’re finally (perhaps accidentally) starting to get the features consumers care about across to them. Of course, it also helped that there was some aggressive pricing going on as the carriers started to get desperate to get people to upgrade to their new networks.
