Wi-Fi That Follows You Around

from the build-an-array-of-antennas dept

Looking for a way to cover a large area of space with WiFi, and don’t want to set up multiple base stations (even ones armed with Pringles-can like antennas)? A new company has apparently built a special base station made up of a whole array of antennas and a Linux box, to pick up on wifi receivers in the area, and then focus a connection directly to that user. In doing so, it can broadcast ever-changing, directionally focused wifi to users over a range of up to 7 kilometers.
