Wireless In Europe Is Stagnant
A new study has shown that wireless growth in Europe is now stagnant, as just about everyone who wants a mobile phone already has one. This seems like a similar situation to the story in the US, which we posted earlier today. While everyone knew the growth couldn’t continue forever, it’s slowed down much faster than many people expected. This, though, certainly does explain the attempts (so far not very successful) of companies like Nokia trying to convince consumers that they need a different mobile phone for every occasion. The analysts, instead, say that wireless carriers need to figure out a strong data services strategy to make money, because regular subscriber revenue isn’t likely to grow much.
