eBay Ignoring Power Selling Cheaters

from the slap-on-the-virtual-wrist dept

Yesterday’s story about how eBay is ignoring some blatant cases of fraud mentioned a few clear cut cases that the reporters at MSNBC had dug up. Today they have another story that looks in more detail at two of those fraudulent auctioneers, and exactly what eBay has done about them. In both cases, the evidence seems pretty compelling that the seller was committing fraud, either by boosting the price with another login or by altering the goods for sale. Multiple people complained in both cases, and both times eBay appears to have done nothing. In the second case (dealing with sellers altering stamps) eBay, in fact, has taken more action against the people complaining than the sellers who were committing the fraud.
