RIM Keyboard Patent Harmful Only To RIM
The Register is taking a closer looks at RIM’s keyboard patents that is using as the basis of its lawsuits against Handspring and Good. From the looks of it, they don’t have much to stand on. First, their patent is very written very poorly and second Motorola actually developed the first keyboard based two-way pager. You don’t see them suing everyone with a wireless keyboard device. Plus, RIM applied for the patent 4 years after their design was public knowledge. Come on guys, you messed up, now just try to compete on the merit of your products, not the keyboard.
