Vivendi Resists Vodafone Bid For SFR
The fate of SFR is still in play as Vodafone and Vivendi attack and counter-attack for France’s leading mobile operator. At the moment Vivendi is trying to hold onto its stake in SFR by rejecting Vodafone’s bid and actually trying to get a controlling share of SFR’s parent, Cegatal. Given this strong move by Vivendi, Vodafone is rumored to be rethinking its strategy and focusing on increasing its share in SFR rather than an outright takeover.
