Daydreaming About 4G
While we’re waiting for 3G to get traction, researchers have started daydreaming about what 4G might be like. There is talk of media-rich content and telepresence capablities about 10 years out. All neat ideas, but what I find particulary interesting is the notion that these things are all feasible wirelessly, when we still don’t have wired broadband in most places. Maybe wireless will eventually replace highspeed wired connections, but that seems more than 10 or 15 years away.
