The Brits Love Their SMS

There is simply no denying it, the Brits are hooked on text messaging. New figures from The Mobile Data Association (MDA) show that for the 12th consective month, over 1 billion text messages were exchanged in the UK. The MDA expects 16 billion messages sent for 2002. I predict that the US is probably 6 to 12 months away from catching up to this trend. We have interesting new devices coming out and more competition for the prepaid youth market. The new devices will make it easier for older users to send SMS and the prepaid devices will get phones in the hands of kids who can adapt quickly to a 12 button keypad.
