P2P For The People – The Weblog Candidate

from the start-a-revolution dept

I have to admit, it’s a bit inspiring to read this story, even if nothing comes of it. A woman in North Carolina who is fed up with ridiculous policies coming out of Congress in support of Hollywood against technology is running for Congress as the Libertarian candidate in North Carolina against Republican Howard Coble – one of the supporters of the “Hollywood Hacking” bill. She even set up a weblog for her campaign, which is generating a lot of attention from within the techie community. While it’s unlikely she’ll get all that much mainstream attention (or many votes), maybe this will inspire others to take a stand against a Congress that is clearly out of date, and beholden to interests other than the people they’re supposed to serve.
