Wells Fargo To Shutter Mobile Service

I’ve always wondered about various companies that quickly put up WAP sites to let people do things like order books or pay their bills via their mobile phone. While I could see it being useful in some small scenarios, it’s a pretty rare situation where people can’t wait until they get home. So, it’s no surprise to me that Wells Fargo has announced that they’re shutting down their mobile service due to lack of interest. I think that there are certain applications that can make sense for banking on wireless devices, but they’re different than just taking the regular website and putting it on a mobile phone. They need to take advantage of the applications that make sense for someone on the move.
