Wanted: Killer app for new smart phone
2002 will go down as a watershed year of wireless devices. We’ve seen color handsets hit the mass market and a number of new hybrid devices. But we’re still missing applications. SonyEricsson is trying to spur application developers to come up with apps for its upcoming P800 smartphone. There’s no question it’s one sexy device. But analysts worry that SonyEricsson’s dwindling market share and the general internia of wireless data services could keep developers away from dedicating resources.
