EarthLink's New Software Blocks Pop Ups
from the smart-move dept
EarthLink has been running ads for a while now saying that they have spam filters are part of their offerings in order to attract customers away from other ISPs. Now they’re going one step further by introducing pop-up killing software as part of their package. They’re going to be running an ad campaign (not using pop ups, I assume – though, that could be effective in a really annoying way…) around this notion. I think this is a great move by EarthLink. It’s nice to see a company doing something that take an annoyance away from their customers, rather than adding extra annoyances in an attempt to squeeze more money out of them. Companies should learn to make money by making their customers’ lives easier – and not by throwing unnecessary roadblocks in their face.

If they stop spamming their customers, I’d be happy.
PS: The Forbes link has a pop-under. Sheesh!
