X-Ray Vision For Doctors
from the but-where-are-my-x-ray-glasses? dept
As a kid, everyone always wanted those magical “x-ray glasses” that would let you see through things. Now doctors may be able to get their hands on handheld devices that give them x-ray vision. They’re basically portable ultrasound scanners, that can be held up to a body to get a live picture of what’s going on inside. Not quite what we wanted as kids, but still kind of cool (and probably a lot more useful).

Hmm, sort of like the scanner Dr. McCoy used on Star Trek? (Somebody had to make the life imitates Star Trek comment for this!)
