iVillage Ditches Pop-Ups

from the really? dept

I’m shocked. Really. A content website has actually decided to (gasp! really?) listen to their users. The users of iVillage have told people there that they hate (really, really hate) pop up ads and iVillage has agreed to get rid of all pop up ads on their site by the end of September (NY Times article, if I find a non-reg req. version, I’ll post it instead). I think this is great, and hope (though, I doubt it will happen) that a few other sites will follow their lead. Update: Figured someone else would eventually pick up on this story. Here’s a non-reg. required version from News.com with some more details about iVillage ditching pop-ups.
