Q2 PDA Sales Drop

IDC reports that global PDA sales fell in Q2 to 2.6 million units from 2.89 million units from the same period a year ago. Sales also dropped from Q1’s 3.12 million unit. IDC expects sales to remain flat for the rest of the year due to reduced spending by consumer and enterprises in light of the economy. It could also have something to do with a lack of anything really new. Maybe the widespread launch of new wireless networks and devices can help revive this market. But probably not till prices come down.
