Researchers in the UK observed 16 to 19 year-olds to see how mobile phones fit into their lives. They found that the kids relied mainly on text messaging and only switched to voice for something really important or when they needed to be more expressive than possible with text. But there are some rules about how to use messaging. Breaking up or asking someone out via SMS is taboo.
