Working From Home: It's A Nice Commute
from the growing-in-popularity dept
More and more people are discovering the joys of working from home. Whether they’re small companies run out of the home, or telecommuters, a lot more people work out of their homes on a regular basis these days. Many people prefer it to working out of an office. A lot of the change is due to technology, but also a changing view of how people can work in distributed environments.

Mill Valley, CA…Wasn’t that the home of BJ Honeycutt on MASH? Anyway…
I’ve been working from home for about 2 months now. I can’t imagine having to commute in every day again. In fact, I just won’t do it again. I was worried about productivity, since my wife and kids are home all day too. However, I’ve found that the watercooler chats in the office were a huge timesucker, and that I am pretty good at focusing on the task at hand from a home office environment. I haven’t touched the PS2 during work hours, not even once!
