SF Gate has a very interesting interview with Eric Schwartz about his latest book, The Last Lone Inventor: A Tale of Genius, Deceit, and the Birth of Television. It’s the story of Philo T. Farnsworth, who apparently invented the television. However, he’s rarely given any credit, as he was held back by David Sarnoff at RCA who was scared that TV would kill off his valuable radio business. It sounds like a very interesting book, with some parallels to what’s going on in the entertainment world today, with their attempts to kill off new technologies.
