Launch It and They Will Come
Now that carriers have launched intercarrier SMS we can expect SMS to catch on like it has elsewhere. Numbers for Q1s (before interoperablity) were pretty strong to begin with. Combine interoperablity with the heavy prepaid promotions going on these days and Q2 should blow away Q1. Watch for international interoperablity next. This could be a real gold mine for carriers. I’ve noticed that international SMS is a big request in newsgroups and wireless related forums.
