IM: The New Email?

from the but-i-just-set-up-my-filters dept

If you’re like us, you have a love-hate relationship with instant messaging. It’s great, but it sure is a dangerous time suck. Now imagine that you have to use it for work. Of course, many people already use it for work – but it’s not officially sanctioned because of security concerns. The race to come up with enterprise-safe IM is on and AOL is somewhat late to the game. I don’t think it really matters if they are late to market since they already have the market and mind share of users. The real issue is can a company focused on making the best consumer online experience also create a decent enterprise product.
