Wireless OS's Are Useless Without Apps

In two recent columns Jorgen Sungot, editor infoSync, points out that the the battle of the wireless OS comes down to applictions. Earlier this month Sungot reiterates his faith in Symbian given that the Symbian licensees have one of the best product distribution networks in the world. But for Symbian to be successfull it must make developing for its platform easier across their three reference designes. In Sungot’s more recent column, he wonders why Microsoft’s PocketPC is so far behind in applications compared to Palm. PocketPC has the hardware but Palm has the software.
