Microsoft and Verizon Wireless: Giants Unite

Microsoft and Verizon Wireless have signed an exclusive contract to develop and deliver consumer wireless data services. Verizon subscribers with web-enabled phones will now have access to MSN service on their phones. The two will also work on Windows powered CDMA devices. This is a huge win for MSN to extend its service and gain ground against AOL. The partners haven’t announced a similar deal to go after business users, but that would be a logical next step and probably the long term goal of both players.
