Infinite Spectrum

Dan Gillmor of the San Jose Mercury News wrote a great piece overviewing David Reed’s thoughts on why spectrum shouldn’t be considered a scarce resource. The basic idea is that the technology is getting to the point where the currently notion of limited spectrum that is the basis of the regulatory model is outdated. New wireless technologies could create infinite spectrum and could lead to a spectrum revolution that will create opportunities for business, entrepreneurs and most importantly individuals.
