California Wants To Ditch Sketchy Oracle Deal

The now infamous California-Oracle deal where the state signed up to use Oracle products without following the proper procedure (and possibly without the products being needed at all) is causing all sorts of attention this weekend. First comes the news that California and Oracle will ditch the agreement (despite Oracle’s claims that the state audit of the deal is wrong and that it will save the state millions of dolalrs), but SF Gate says that won’t be very easy. Meanwhile, the San Jose Mercury News explains how Oracle and the state of California got into this mess in the first place.
