Did Microsoft Miss The Ecommerce Boat?

Here’s an article pointing out that with all the talk concerning .NET and Passport, it’s not likely that Microsoft is suddenly going to become an ecommerce powerhouse. Interestingly, a large reason for this (they say) is Microsoft’s past behavior. Lots of consumers and companies alike simply don’t trust Microsoft (either as a company, or as a provider of buggy software) and are very wary of giving information to them.
