The Thinking Cap

from the forget-everything-you-thought-you-knew dept

All sorts of bizarre theories have been popping up lately. We had compression beyond what was believed to be theoretically possible, cold fusion, time travel and breaking the laws of gravity. So, what should we have next, but a thinking cap? The well respected (apparently) researchers behind the device says it helps tap into the “unconscious brain” by shutting down the left side of the brain using magnetism. I honestly have no idea what they’re talking about it and it sounds very sketchy to me. It’s based on work done on autistic patients. The theory is that by shutting down part of the brain, it gives people the temporary ability to access parts of the brain that autistics use to do processing tasks like multiplying large numbers. Personally, I’d rather just carry around a calculator than have anyone turn off half of my brain.
